MULTAN: Deputy Secretary of the Pakistan’s National Assembly Moazzam Kalru, who was abducted by unidentified criminals, has reached back to his home today.
Moazzam Kalru was abducted on January 25 from Multan’s Nawabpur area when he was en route by car to his farmhouse.
Some media reports say that he was released after payment of Rs4 crores as ransom money to the abductors.
No group had claimed responsibility for kidnapping the high-level government official.
Police said the deputy secretary was returning from his mango farm in Sandilian when four armed men on a motorcycle and in a car kidnapped him, local media reported.
Police suspected that a small gang-war group was responsible for the abduction.
It may be mentioned that Kalru was kidnapped from NA-151 which is the same constituency from where former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider was kidnapped earlier last year.
