KARACHI: The recently deposed senator and former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faisal Raza Abidi opined on Thursday that he is punished because he fought for last five years for the ideology of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and recent c0-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Abidi asked that is it constitutional that Taliban who have killed 86000 Pakistanis are being treated on an even keel by Pakistan government, taking a jab at the recent Govt-TTP peace talks.
He remarked that if the Taliban can go and pray at country’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum, he will accept them as a party in peace dialogue.
Speaking in a JAAG TV talkshow, the former PPP senator who resigned today from his seat on party request maintained that he will not be participating in politics but people themselves will not forgive Taliban who have killed their near and dear ones, while claiming that he wanted PPP to oppose peace talks.
Abidi accepted that the 11 May elections were massively rigged.
THE WHOLE TYRE IS BURST
Answering a question about 35 punctures in 11 May elections, he replied “What punctures, the whole Tyre is burst” meaning the elections were rigged to the core.
He remarked loudly that “Yes, I have left PPP, but I am Jiyala (lover) of Bhutto, Once a Jiyala, always a Jiyala”
The former PPP Karachi President revealed that two or three more senators of PPP were asked to resign but they didn’t follow party orders, I followed the orders & resigned.
