KARACHI: At least six people including three students of seminary were gunned down by unidentified assailants’ attacks in different areas of Karachi on Friday.
three men were shot dead near Sakhi Hasan Chowrangi. They were identified as Ansar, Maqsood and Zia, students of a seminary and activists of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), police said.
Tension prevailed in the area after the incident. Sources said unknown armed men on two motorcycles opened fire on the deceased when they were coming out of a mosque after Jumma prayers. Hospital sources said all the dead were students of seminary.
Police said they have recovered 9MM shells from the site of incident. Police were further investigating the matter.
In another firing incident that took place in Khaji Ground, Gulbahar, a man identified as Shahbaz was killed.
The victims were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
Earlier on the day, police and rescue officials said two men were found shot dead in Korangi area. The victims were identified as Muhammad Ali and Qasim, residents of Orangi Town locality.
