KARACHI: Pakistan’s former army chief has arrived in Karachi from Islamabad on Saturday amid tight security arrangements.
The former military ruler who is facing a treason trial was shifted in a special plane to Karachi where he will spend a week at his daughter’s residence in Generals Colony Defence.
Security was beefed up from airport to Shahrah-e-Faisal, and all petrol pumps were closed on the thoroughfare.
Roads leading to airport from Pehlwan Goth have also been blocked.
The special chartered plane carrying Musharraf had landed at the Karachi airport at around 9.10pm.
The plane landed at the terminal-1 of the Karachi airport.
Security was put on high alert at the airport as well as the PNS Shifa Hospital where he is expected to be shifted for medical treatment.
