SUKKUR: At least 42 persons were killed in a furious road accident following truck – passenger bus clash in Sukkur district of the Pakistan’s Sindh province on Sunday.
The pitiful incident took place near national highway Sanghi of Panu Akil cantonment, located in Sukkur district, when the bus turned turtle after collision with a truck from opposite direction.
The death toll reaches up to 42 till yet as at least 60 persons were on board while travelling via unlucky bus; majority of the deceased belonging to Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Kot Adu.
Rescue activities commenced after the incident; the injured and dead bodies were shifted to Panu Akil hospital and other hospitals while several amongst injured are in sensitive condition.
Some injured persons told media that the accident caused due to negligence of bus driver as the traffic load is on single road due to ongoing construction work at Ghotki-Sukkur highway.
