ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has given approval for five additional Boeing 777 aircraft to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), media reported Wednesday.
Prime Minister emphasized on the need of making PIA a profitable organization and urged that efforts should be made for it.
PM also ordered the relevant officials to hire professionals to run the airline so that PIA could match other leading airlines of the world.
He conducted a meeting in PM house specifically to discuss all the issues of PIA here on Wednesday.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the PM Shujaat Azeem, Secretary Aviation Muhammad Ali Gardezi, DG Civil Aviation, Air Marshal (retd) Muhammad Yousaf and MD PIA Muhammad Junaid Yousaf were the attendees of this meeting.
