ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Tuesday strongly condemned a statement of Indian prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and termed it ‘Irresponsible’.
The Bhartia Janata Party’s (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Saturday told an Indian news channel that he would bring the disreputable don Dawood Ibrahim back to India from Pakistan, where he is hiding, if he came to power.
“I am not saying this as a member of the BJP, but as a professional cop who has dealt with organised crime for several years. It should not be a difficult task,” said Modi.
Pakistan’s Chaudhry Nisar vehemently condemned Modi’s statement as absolutely irresponsible.
“This is outrageously brazen. He should think twice before issuing a statement that involves Pakistan”, said he.
According to a statement issued, Chaudhary Nisar said that Modi should first figure out where Dawood Ibrahim lives and then dream of catching him.
He said that Modi had better refrained from confusing Pakistan’s peaceful gestures with cowardice adding that Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate has crossed all limits in ‘Muslim Enmity’.
Mr. Nisar added that emergence of Narendra Modi as Indian Prime Minister may destabilize the region, saying that Modi should stop day dreaming and he should learn from his past mistakes.
