ISLAMABAD: Telenor Pakistan is all set to launch its 3G services real soon, company’s Chief Marketing Officer Irfan Wahab Khan informed on Tuesday.
“We have already completed our network swap [upgrade] and all of our 8,000 cell sites are 3G-ready”, Khan said.
Although he did not reveal any time frame for the launch of 3G services but chances are that Telenor will initiate its 3G services in next two weeks.
He said that the company will come up with some great packages to cater the low-end mobile phone users.
Right now the company is checking its new services in selected area.
Khan also discussed his concerns about low percentage of smartphone users and also even less people uses internet on their mobile phones.
Telenor got the license for third-generation (3G) on April 23 in Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s spectrum auction.
How to know if 3G service is available on Telenor?
“Telenor users could dial a code [*7799#] to find out whether the service is available in their area,” Khan informed.
