ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s revolution was ferrying on Chaudhry brothers’ sinking ship.
“Qadri’s so-called revolution will sink with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders”, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said.
Declaring him a democracy-killer, the PML-N mouthpiece said Qadri was a Canadian circus acrobat trying to win fan following in Pakistan.
“Qadri doesn’t even remotely know what Constitution and the law of land really are”, said Rashid.
In a statement, Rashid said that Qadir was making a fool of the whole nation in the name of revolution.
“The Canadian cleric was bent on plunging the country in the abyss of chaos towing the lines of his foreign masters while a do-or-die war on terror was raging in the north”, said he.
Concord and not discord was what Pakistan needed the most right now, while he was pushing an agenda of anarchy, which the government was well aware of, said the minister toning up the rhetoric.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader and Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique chipping in with his bit of anti-Qadri tirade, said that the PAT leader was lying in the lap of Chaudhry brothers.
“The self-proclaimed Shaykh-ul-Islam was working on an anti-state mission evident from the brutalities the cops were subjected to by hundreds of his hooligans in Model Town”, Rafique alleged.
He said Qadri wanted to push people as well as country into a new turmoil.
“Dr Qadri was coaxing government officials to disobey the orders of the government. This is nothing but a traitorous attempt to spark a movement of civil disobedience. Such actions tantamount to revolt against the government,” he added.
Meanwhile, the PML-N stalwart, Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal also added to the anti-Qadri tirade by saying that the firebrand reformist cleric was least interested in the real issues of the poor.
“He and his allies (PML-Q leaders) are nihilists with disorder on his mind”, Iabal said.
