KABUL: At least six NATO soldiers, two Afghan policemen and 10 citizens were killed following a intense suicide explosion carried out in Afghanistan’s Parwan province on Tuesday.
Afghan police told Reuters that it was the biggest attack carried out against foreign troops this year, however, no one has claimed the responsibility of the attack till yet while official statement of NATO forces is also due.
According to Afghan news agency, the responsibility of the suicide attack has been claimed by Taliban group for targeting US forces’ convoy in northern Parwan province.
Zabiullah Mujahid, Taliban group spokesman said a Taliban suicide bomber attacked the convoy of the US special forces in Charikar city around 8:00 am local time.
Afghan police chief Gen. Mohammad Masoom Farzaye said the intense explosion killed at least 11 children along with two local policemen while seven others got severe injuries.
