Anti-Israel protests continue in Pakistan, doctors and paramedics join movement

KARACHI: Like all over the world, masses in Pakistan are seems very angry after Israel attacked the Gaza strip, now the Pakistani doctors and paramedics have joined the global anti Israel protest movement.

Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and other doctors and paramedics organizations on Thursday staged protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the Israeli barbarism in Palestine.

A large number of people belonging to different walks of life including doctors, social activists, paramedics, civil society representatives and others attended the protest.

The protestors raised placards and banners inscribed the slogans against Israel and United Nations. They also chanted slogans against Israeli barbarism in Gaza.

The protest was attended by the representatives of PIMA, Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Chest Society, Pakistan Society of Neurology, Neurology Research Foundation, ENT Society, Eye specialists, Omair Sana Foundation, Aafia Movement and other bodies of medical associations.

The protestors demanded intervention of United Nations in stopping Israeli barbarism in Gaza and allow teams of doctors and paramedics to enter in affected areas of Palestine.

PIMA President Prof Sohail Akhtar, former President Dr Misbah-ul-Aziz, President Karachi PIMA Dr Azeem-ud-din, General Secretary Dr Saqib Hussain Ansari, Dr Ahmed Salam Ghauri, Dr Tipu Sultan, Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Dr Qazi Wasiq, Dr Abdul Malik, Dr Atif Hafeez, Dr Fauzia Siddiqui, Dr Musawar Ansari, Dr Shaukat Ansari and Dr Zeeshan Hussain Ansari also spoke on the occasion.

Addressing the protestors, Prof Sohail Akhtar said that the Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) was striving hard to send the relief and medical accessories to Gaza, which was stuck at Rafa Border.

On the occasion, he demanded that the Egyptian government should open the Rafa border for sending necessary supplies for the people of Palestine.

He further demanded of the United Nations, OIC and Islamic countries to play their due role in stopping Israeli barbarism in Gaza.

Dr Tipu Sultan said that 700 Palestinians including women and children have been killed by Israeli bombardment in Gaza, adding that more that 4000 people got injured.

Dr Misbah said that the all Muslim countries remain tight lipped over the barbarism of Israel, adding that 80per cent innocent citizens of Gaza have been killed by Israel.

He further said that 23 hospitals have also been destroyed in Gaza by the bombing of Israel.
