ISLAMABAD: As the Central Rueet-e-Hilal Committee announced moon sighting on Monday, Pakistanis are celebrating Eid al Fitr 2014.
One of the most joyous days in the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Fitr, also known as Eid ul-Fitr or Eid, is a celebration that marks the end of Ramadan (a holy month of fasting observed by Muslims).
The Eid is also being celebrated in different parts of the world with a whole month of fasting and spiritual training during the month of Ramadan.
The people used to visit their close relatives and friends on the eve of Eid, during all the three days of the biggest Muslim event.
The biggest Eid gatherings were held at Eid Centers and Central Mosques of all cities and towns along-with rural areas, where millions offered Eid prayer.
