Terror activity cannot be ruled out in the train incident: Saad Rafique

GUJRANWALA – Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, said that chance of terror activity cannot be ruled out in the Gujranwala Special Train incident.

While talking to media, Khawaja Saad Rafique claimed that bridge was perfectly all right. He also said that chance of terror activity cannot be ruled out.

Federal Minister told that complete report over train incident will be finalized in 72 hours.  He also informed that bridge was perfectly fit and declared fit in November during inspection.

He said that all Railway bridges examined four time in a calendar year.

Earlier, three bogies of train which was carrying 300 passengers fell into a canal on Thursday near Wazirabad in Gujranwala.

According to initial reports, 12 people were died and several injured in this unfortunate incident.

Media sources revealed a section of the Head Chanawa bridge collapsed while the train was passing by the area. The train was on route from Punno Akal to Khariya Cantt in Gujrat.

A relief train from Lahore has been dispatched on the orders of Divisional Superintendent Pakistan Railways, which is carrying medical, mechanical as well as technical staff.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over the incident and directed the Punjab government and relief services to provide all resources.
