MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has shown concern over Pakistan government’s intend to give the status of province to Gilgit Baltistan.
While speaking in a press conference, he said that Gilgit-Baltistan is part of Jammu and Kashmir state and AJK govenrment will resist any effort integrate GB into Pakistan.
“I have cleared AJK government stance on Nawaz Sharif that his govenrment should stay away from taking any decision against its domain”. Chaudhry Majeed added.
He cannot take this decision unless we, the people of Jammu and Kashmir, take it,” Mr Majeed said.
He argued that this proposed decision may harm to the stance of Kashmiris’ right to self determination.
“I warn PML-N led federal goverment of Pakistan to alter its resolve, otherwise there may be hard reaction from our side”. PM AJK explained.
Mr. Majeed told that AJK parliamentary committee should consult with the prime minister of Pakistan to take any constitutional ammendments for this purpose.
Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan , AJK President also said that any move to convert GB will bring country in the same situation like it had in 1971.
Earlier, others Kashmiri leaders have shown distress on the proposed intend to transform Gilgit Baltistan into the province.
