UFA, RUSSIA – In the first official meeting since May 2014, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi held bilateral talks ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Ufa, Russia.
In a joint press briefing by foreign secretaries of both countries, it was announced that PM Modi will be travelling to Islamabad in 2016, the first visit by him to Pakistan, to participate in the SAARC summit.
Joint press release further stated that meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.
The joint statement also said that National Security Advisors of both countries will be meeting in Delhi to discuss issues on terrorism.
Further, Pakistan and India agreed to release fishermen detained on both sides of the border along with their boats within 15 days, as per a draft released by the foreign secretaries of both countries detailing on Nawaz, Modi meeting.
Both countries also agreed to complete the investigation of Mumbai Attacks without any further delay. India agreed to share more proofs with Pakistan.
