Bangladesh beat South Africa by 7 wickets in 2nd ODI

MIRPUR: After losing early opening match of the series, Bangladesh made a strong come back, beating visitors by seven wickets and 22 overs in hand in second One Day international at Shair-e-Bangla stadium Mirpur on Monday, to keep themselves in the series with 1-1.

South Africa after winning the toss on a batting-friendly wicket but failed to utilize the conditions as Bangladeshi bowlers bowled with discipline and got protease bundled out for just 162 runs.

Faf du Plessis was the top scorer from African batting line up.

In reply, Bangladesh lost two early wickets toyo ung pacer Rabada but then Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah stood firm to chase down the easy-looking target in 28 overs.

Soumya Sarkar’s heroic 88* made him a strong contender of man of the match award.

With this emphatic victory, Bangladesh has confirmed their place in ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
