Pakistani Shaheens ready to snatch another win from ‘Lankan Tigers’

PALLEKELE – Pakistan team will take on Sri Lankan team in second One Day International (ODI) of five match series at Palleekele, Sri Lanka.

Pakistan needs to win the series at least 4-0 to get ticket for ICC Champions trophy 2017.

Pakistan team beat host team in first ODI of five match series by six wickets courtesy all-round performance of Mohammad Hafeez. He took four wickets and scored 103 runs in the first match of the series.

He was awarded by man of the match trophy for his all-round performance.

Bangladesh’s entry in the Trophy has rung an alarming bell for Pakistan as green shirts are in do-or-die situation in ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Now that Bangladesh have qualified, Pakistan have to win the series and win with big margin of 5-0 or at least 4-1 to overtake West Indies in the ICC ODI teams ranking.

Currently Pakistan stands on 9th spot in the list, a heavy-margin series win can put Shaheens in the race for the title.
