KARACHI: Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman on Friday announced that Shawal Crescent has been sighted in the different parts of the country so Eid-Al-Fitr will be on July 18.
“Pakistan will celebrate Eid-al-Fitr on Tuesday, July 18″, sources in central Ruet-e-Hilal (Moon sighting) Committee told TheNewsTribe.com.
The central committee meeting was held in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi along-with Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta for the sighting of Shawwal Crescent.
Members of the central and Karachi Ruet-e-Hilal committees, officials of the Met Department and Space, and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) experts were present on the occasion.
Services from Pakistan Meteorological Department were also taken for making final decision of Shawwal moon sighting.
According to the sources, Moon Sighting Committee has received many evidences from Skardu, Badin, Sanghar, Quetta and different areas of the Balochistan province.
