Moon sighted in Saudi Arabia, Friday will be Eid Day

RIYADH: Elite body of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has formally announced that the Eid al-Fitr moon has been sighted on Thursday, which marks the end of holy month, Ramadan (fasting) 2015.

Muslims across the kingdom and those countries usually follow Saudi Arabia’s timeline including Middle East, African countries, some sections of United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA) have greeted the commencement of the Eid ul Fitr celebration on Friday as month of Holy Ramadan comes to an end.

While other countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and some other Asia countries will organise their moon sighting session respectively on Friday to decide the first lunar day of Shawwal.

One of the biggest religious festivals of the world, Eid ul Fitr, is celebrated by the Muslims’ during their Islamic lunar calendar’s month of Shawwal’s 1st date of Shawwal till 3rd.
