River Indus in high flood at Layyah

LAYYAH – Alarming situation occurs at Lyyah in River Indus and after this situation 20 relief camps set for the flood victims on Tuesday. 

Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan announced 2 million rupees for goods for the fllod victims of Chitral. According to Pakistan Disaster Management Authorities, department working round the clock under flood action plan.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif showed issued directions to field commanders to help the control the situation of flood hit areas.

According to Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday directs for provision of relief in emerging flood situation. Raheel Sharif said that relief activities were started in flood hit areas.

General Raheel issued directions for corps commander to remain in contact with the authorities. COAS also directed the field commander to vist the flood hit areas.

Chitral valley is disconnected fro other parts of country as 33 bridges destroyed as flash flood ravaged Chitral for sixth consecutive day on Tuesday.

Main bridge linking Chitral to Matuj-sub division also washed away due to the flood. Emergency imposed in Chitral after flood. Roads that links Chitral to at least ten union councils also damaged.
