COLOMBO – International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed ban on Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma and Sri Lankan middle order batsman Dinesh Chandimal for misconduct during final Test in Colombo.
According to details, ICC suspended Indian pacer Ishant Sharma for one Test match and Danesh Chandimal of Sri Lanka a One Day International (ODI) match.
ICC also fined on two other Sri Lankan players Dhammika Prasad and Lahiru Thirimanne for similar offences during last Test match of the series.
They will pay 50 percent of their match fee. Match referee Andy Pycroft charged the players ICC code of conduct.
All four players admitted the offence and accepted the sanctions.
“These experienced cricketers forgot their fundamental responsibilities of respecting their opponents as well as the umpires, and got involved in incidents which were clearly against the spirit of the game,” Pycroft said.
