Pork being sold in Lahore, supplier arrested

LAHORE: Huge amount of pork has been brought to Lahore from Rawalpindi to be sold in the local markets of Lahore.

According to reports, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) caught a pork supplier from Lahore Railway Station and handed over it to police.

While talking to local media, Ayesha Mumtaz, DG Operations of PFA said “It is being supplied to Lahore and then it is further sent to chains and restaurants where edible food is prepared.”

She added that this meat will be further sent to laboratory for its DNA test.

Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif took notice of different reports of pig meal supplied to parts of Province, and ordered authorities to submit a detailed report regarding this crucial issue.

It is to be kept in mind that incidents like this has been happening with quite a regular intervals in different parts of countries.

Earlier, incidents have been reported where donkey and dog meat has been found in markets of Karachi and Lahore.
