LONDON: Rampant Australia thumped England Saturday in second consecutive One-Day of the five-match series by 64 runs at Lords, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
After winning the toss, England sent in Australia to bat first put up a massive score of 309 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Captain Smith top scored with 70 and was well supported by his middle order.
The England bowlers were good initially but Marsh towards the end hammered them to all pasts of the ground to take the visitors over 300.
Finn and Stokes shared 5 wicket between them but gave away 115 runs in their 18 overs. The onus was on England to come back and not make the mistakes they made in the first match to level the series.
It was no doubt a cracker of a match. Amazing batting, brilliant bowling and out of the box fielding. Both teams deserve the applauds but it was Australia who came out on top yet again to go up 2-0 in the 5-match series.
