PPP’s ex-minister jailed over corruption cases

KARACHI: A local court on Thursday sentenced former provincial minister in Pakistan Peoples Party’s government, Ali Nawaz Shah, to five-year jail over irregularities in allotment of government lands.

According to details, all the corruption charges against Ali Nawaz Shah were proved in court and after that he was sentenced five year imprisonment.

Other partners in the case Khadim Ali Shah and Imtiaz Ali Shah were also awarded with three year imprisonment along with 5 lac fine to each.

It is to be kept in mind that Ali Nawaz Shah was elected Member of Provisional Assembly in 2008 on Pakistan Peoples Party’s ticket and served as Sindh forest minister.

Investigators were of the opinion that minister and his partners received lavish price for land allotment causing loses worth billions to the national exchequer.
