KARACHI: Pakistan Railway announced to run ten special trains on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in the country.
From the 7th to 14th of Zilhaj, the PR will have in its system seats for 550,000 passengers. Advance booking will start from the first day of Zilhaj, Railways Minister Saad Rafiq announced here on Friday.
He said that on the Eid day and the day after Eid passengers could avail of 25pc discount on tickets. For the return of passengers after Eid holidays up to the 14th of Zilhaj, additional coaches would be added to normal passenger trains, he said.
Trains will be operated on Sept 21 from Karachi to Lahore via Faisalabad; from Karachi to Rawalpindi via Sargodha; from Karachi to Peshawar via Lahore; and from Quetta to Rawalpindi via Lahore.
On Sept 22, one train, from Lahore to Karachi, will be operated via Faisalabad, and on Sept 23 one train, from Rawalpindi to Multan via Kot Addu, will be operated. Two trains each will be operated between Rawalpindi and Lahore and between Lahore and Rawalpindi on Sept 23.
