National T20 Cup: Peshawar Region beat Sialkot Region by 5 wickets

RAWALPINDI: Peshawar Region cruised away Sialkot Region in second semi final by 5 wickets to qualify for the final of Cool and Cool Presents Haier Mobile T-20 Cup on Monday at Rawalpindi cricket stadium, Rawalpindi.

Peshawar will meet star-studded Karachi Blues Region in the final on Tuesday.

Peshawar captain Zohaib after winning the toss once again chose to field first, keeping confidence on their strong batting line up.

Shoaib Malik-led Sialkot got the most out of it and posted a respectable total on the board despite loosing early wickets.

Sialkot made 169 for 7 in their innings thanks to Adil Malik’s not out 70 of 46 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours.

Peshawar in reply were bold and blunt straightway, their opening batsman made intentions very clear. Though Peshawar lost openers quickly after a good start, Rizwan Ahmed and Rifatullah Mehmand made a match-winning partnership of  81 runs.

Match witnessed another twist when Sialkot got two back to back wickets, one of them was set batsman Rifatullah, but Rizwan stood strong and got going.

Rizwan’s unbeaten 47 of 32 ball alon with Rifatullah Mehmand’s 78 of 51 cruised away to win the seminal with five wickets and 9 balls in hand.
