LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former president of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Qasim Zia,was granted bail on Wednesday in a multi-million rupee fraud.
According to details, two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) accepted bail request of the accused after a counsel of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said he has no objection over his bail.
NAB counsel also informed the court that the accused has deposited a bank draft worth over Rs80 million due to which high court granted bail to Zia.
It is to be kept in mind that Qasim Zia was arrested last month over corruption charges.
Moreover, Sindh High Court also accepted bail plea of PPP leader Ali Nawaz two days ago.
