Chinese president Xi Jinping denies any militarisation in South China Sea

WASHINGTON: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday has denied all the concerns expressed by American President Barack Obama about Chinese militarization of artificial islands in the South China Sea.

According to details yesterday US president said “I conveyed to President Xi our significant concerns over land reclamation, construction and the militarization of disputed areas, which makes it harder for countries in the region to resolve disagreements peacefully.”

Xi, Chinese president has denied any militarization was taking place at the site.

Xi said in clear tone that, “Relevant construction activity that China is undertaking in the Nansha Islands does not target or impact any country and there is no intention to militarize.”

Chinese president further said that “Islands in the South China Sea since ancient times are Chinese territory and we have the right to uphold our own territorial sovereignty and lawful legitimate maritime rights and interests.”

It is to be kept in mind that Chinese president nowadays in US and reviewing many strategic issues with America.
