MULTAN: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued an stay order on Laudhran elections in the constituency of National Assembly 154 (NA-154), TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Country’s top court on Tuesday ruled in favor of PML-N’s Siddique Baloch who had submitted a plea against election tribunal’s orders in which he suspended and re-elections were ordered in the constituency.
A three member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Saqib Nisar today (Tuesday) suspended the decision of election tribunal regarding by-election in NA-154.
The court has also issued notices to all the concerned parties.
Siddique Baloch was de-seated by the tribunal on August 26 over a petition filed by former secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Jahangir Tareen against alleged rigging in NA-154 (Lodhran) during the 2013 general elections.
Baloch had challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. By-election in the constituency was scheduled to be held on 11 October, 2015.
