LONDON: London Police on Monday has exempted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain from money-laundering, however Scotland Yard says that the investigations will continue.
According to MQM sources, Altaf Hussain has been acquitted in money-laundering cases and the criminal charges against him have been dropped.
The sources also claimed that Altaf’s passport will also be handed back to him tomorrow. Altaf Hussain will not have to appear before the police now though he was scheduled to appear before the police on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Scotland Yard sources told that the evidence in money-laundering case is still being investigated. They said that the investigations will continue but a timeframe for the completion of these investigations cannot be given.
