lAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jahangir Khan Tareen hopes that ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) will soon lose its fourth wicket after a possible deseating of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
The Supreme Court is hearing a case regarding verification of votes in Sialkot’s NA-110 constituency won by the minister in the 2013 general elections.
Submitting its forensic report on Wednesday, NADRA Chairman Usman Yousaf Mobeen told the bench that 147,698 voters were processed through Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) out of which 102,950 could not be verified due to poor quality of the fingerprints on their counterfoil, The Express Tribune reported.
Tribune wrote that the report said 44,728 counterfoils were authenticated by the AFIS as the fingerprints affixed on counterfoil correctly matched with fingerprints data of registered voters held with NADRA.
On May 8, NADRA submitted pre-scanning report of counterfoils. The report had found missing the election material of 29 polling stations of NA-110.
