50 people killed, 53 injured in Orlando shooting

ORLANDO: At least 50 people were killed and 53 others were injured as an unidentified gunman took hostages and opened fire in a crowded gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

This is worst mass shooting tragedy in the history of United States.

Police have identified the gunman of the Florida nightclub shooting as Omar Mateen.

Mateen, born in 1986, is a U.S. citizen from Port Saint Lucie, FL.

There has so far been no motive confirmed for the shootings, but FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Ron Hopper said the gunman “may have leanings” toward Jihadist ideology, reported Dailymail.co.uk.

But the FBI has said the gunman was “organised and well-prepared.”
