KARACHI: As we have earlier mentioned about late Sufi Musician Amjad Sabri was not only a good Qawwal, but also a fine cricketer.
Though, due to his professional engagements, he could not play cricket the way he could, however, he used to appear in exhibition matches.
He recently played an exhibition match in Moin Khan Academy last Friday in which he took a brilliant catch.
Renowned sports journalist Faizan Lakhani wrote on his Twitter handle that Amjad Sabri was a brilliant cricketer.
“#AmjadSabri was a very good Cricketer as well, genius off spinner, a fearless batsman and a brilliant fielder. #RIP.”

In another match, probably organized by Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF), Amjad Sabri got a chance bowl against Pakistan star batsman Shahid Afridi.
The match was being played on AO Academy, Nazimabad, Karachi.
Amjad Sabri bowled a slow off-spinner to Shahid Afridi, and, as expected, Afridi dispatched the ball out of the boundary. Fortunately, this was the last ball of the over, so Sabri was happy with one six, he went to umpire with a smiling face, took his cap and went back to the fielding position.
