People-friendly Police: KP launches programme for automation of police stations

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has launched a programme for automation of police stations system in the province.

The programme was launched with support from the UNDP Strengthening Rule of Law Programme and the European Union.

Under the programme, police stations across the province will be automated in phases.

The automation programme will lead to replacing the 21 files of the police station with digital documents.

In the first phase, the system will be introduced in the model police stations of the province as a pilot project. Later, it will be expanded to all police stations of the provinces in phases.

Last year, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had established 22 model police stations in various parts of the province to provide easy justice and access to the high echelon of power. At these police stations, women desks have also been established for redressal of problems and grievances faced by womenfolk.

The automation system will be introduced in these model police stations as a pilot project.
