ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Thursday decided to remove the names of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s names from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The federal cabinet met here with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.
Sources said that the meeting discussed the Supreme Court’s order to remove the names of Bilawal and Murad Ali Shah from the ECL.
Sources said that Law Minister Faroogh Naseem briefed the meeting over the written order of the apex court wherein the government has been instructed to remove the names of Bilawal and Sindh CM from the ECL.
The minister said that the government was constitutionally bound to implement the Supreme Court’s verdict. The sources said that the cabinet mulled over the option to file a petition for review of the supreme court’s order.
However, after detailed deliberation it was decided that the SC order will be implemented and the names will be removed from the no-fly list.
The cabinet also discussed the country’s political, economic and energy situation. The cabinet was also briefed on the supply and demand and prices of the cement industry.
