ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said that Pakistan Television (PTV) Managing Director Arshad Khan should immediately resign from office.
Talking to journalists, Chaudhry said that the managing director should voluntarily tender his resignation.
The information minister said that immediate action was needed in this regard as the PTV headquarters have been closed for 23 days.
Chaudhry said that members of the Senate Committee on Information and Broadcasting have also voiced support for the incumbent MD’s removal from office.
Speaking during the committee’s session on Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed said reforms must be immediately introduced in the state-run entity.
He called for priority to be accorded to “issues being faced by employees and pensioners” of the national broadcaster.
