PERTH (Australia): Australian actor Ben Unwin, who played Home and Away bad boy Jessie McGregor during the late 1990s and early 2000s, has died.

He was 41.

Unwin was reportedly found dead by police the day before his 42nd birthday.

According to media reports, Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

“Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The statement said that the body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious.

Unwin played Jesse between 1996 and 1999, before returning to the soap again in 2002 for another four-year stint.

He was nominated for Most Popular New Talent at the 1997 Logie Awards, and in 1999, received nominations for Best Actor and Sexiest Male from the Inside Soap Awards.

After his second stint on Home and Away, Unwin turned to his studies, completing a law degree.

A 2016 Woman’s Day article reported Unwin was working as a “senior solicitor specilaising in civil and commercial litigation in Newcastle”.
